This high-quality hand-finished woven shawl uses a thick two-ply weave for extra warmth and is certified as 100-percent pure Pashmina. Dyed with modern, colorfast Swiss-made dyes, the classic jet black color complements any fashion. Generously sized, the shawl measures 32 inches wide by 80 inches long and each end is finished with a 2-inch full fringe.

Pashmina is the Tibetan name for cashmere. 'Pashm,' which means 'inner,' comes from the underbelly fur of the mountain goats that live in the foothills of the Himalayas and the high Tibetan plateau. Every summer shepherds gather this underfur from the goats; it's then cleaned and spun into a fine cashmere yarn.

Pashmina has been around for centuries. Fine shawls have been passed down from generation to generation throughout India, Kashmir and Nepal.
